Project 2

Moving on to the second assignment, we are required to explore and identify architectural response within the context of the site to create a public discovery center. In this project, emphasis is given to design solutions integrating site, program, and spatial poetics. Through this project students are also expected to document, interpret and analyze the physical conditions of the site and ‘genius loci’ of the place to generate a design scheme for the visitor center.

Project 2(a)

Project 2 is split into two parts namely project 2(a) and project 2(b). Project 2(a) is done through a tutorial team and the aim is to extract the tangible and intangible elements of the site to develop guidelines on how to design a Visitor Center for Kampung Sungai Haji Dorani

Project 2(b)

Moving on to part 2(b), the design brief calls for an architectural response to design a Visitor Center emphasizing on strong engagement and relationship to the site, people, culture, history, spatial experiences, with programmatic requirements.

At the end of this assignment, I've learned to produce a small-scale community building by taking into account of the user requirements, environmental sustainability, buildability, and spatial poetics through sit visits, analysis and research. This project has also introduced me and made me explore more digital drawings, digital tools and software as I carry out my design exploration.
